*As I am writing
this I am engrossed in your article from Oct 03 Color Wheel
Basics....exactly the direction I needed. I just knew this magazine-site was
going to be the thing I needed to finally get a real start in this medium! I
have already read 8 articles since I got in to the site this evening. I have
sat on the fence with equipment and half-direction for probably 4-5 years
now...I just decided a couple weeks ago Damn it, I know how to draw...I want to
learn how to paint! Ive recalled seeing your site over the years as Id
researched airbrushing but never followed through with the endeavor... Ya
know...Id spent most of the day on the **** **** **** Magazine Online
website...considering whether or not to subscribe, knowing that advertising
filled 75% of the damn magazine (I had bought 5-6 issues over the years), when
what I really wanted were tips, tutorials and lessons. Later on, I simply
searched for airbrush in my Internet Explorer URL bar and had been going
through the 30k + hits it returned, when I came across your site, I am sure
glad I did. Thanks Don! Drew Greene
*DEAR DON, I AM A NEW
SUBSCRIBER AND HAVE JUST NOW LOOKED AT THE BEGINNING AIR BRUSH LESSONS. I HAVE
ALLOT OF WORK TO DO! I JUST WANTED TO THANK YOU, AS I LOVE YOUR WEBSITE. I AM
STOKED ABOUT LEARNING FROM YOU. YOU TAKE US THROUGH ONE STEP AT A TIME. IT'S
AWESOME, THANK YOU! LEERAE (DAWN)
*Things sure have changed in
the 30 some odd years Ive been away from airbrushing. Youve given so much
NEEDED information to those of us that are re-discovering or just beginning to
appreciate the art. I was so glad to read your article where you utilized
cleanser along with the scuff pad. For years, people have thaought me a bit
strange for using this and like procedures. Youve got a fine mag, and an
invaluable source of information. When I first started there were NO resources
of this type, with the exception of small blurbs in Chopper Magazine and like
publications. Keep up the good work. TOM M
*Thanks to
airbrushartistmagazine.com I'm finally getting somewhere with my airbrush. I
was about to give it up. Had nothing but problems with it. Spattering, paint
drying on the tip, etc. Spending a day reading the articles has really helped
me out. The tip about putting lube on the needle has really helped with the
paint buildup. I'm also using higher pressure than I was before (createx paint.
Not the auto-air). One thing that I did by myself that seemed to help me a lot
was to adjust the needle (I have a Badger 150 so I have a little screw) so that
it started to spray paint as soon as I pulled back on the trigger. This helped
me to start and stop painting in a more consistent way. Today I was able to
draw two practice sheets without any problem with the brush. I would have done
more but my hand got tired. What a relief. Now I just need to practice,
practice, practice. Well worth the subscription price!Thanks,- Jon
Bidinger
* Hi Don, Thanks for the

little kid again. I can't believe how easy it works now with my other air
compressor, thanks again. mildthing
*Really like yor mag - It's
been a great source of info for a "newbie" like myself I just recently got into
the airbrush world , and as luck would have it , I was "volunteered" to do 4
batting helmets for some kids on my grandson's team. It was a 'crash course' in
the use of an airbrush , but I learned A LOT , and had LOTS of FUN ,

* Hey Don thanks for the
e-mail. this is actually my wifes email and computer name.My name is Greg,I
dont use the computer much so I dont have my own set up. I used an air brush in
highschool and a little to paint fishing tackle, years ago!!I was looking for
information on Ford Coupes when for some reason (maybe flames) airbrushing
really got my attetion. Then I came across your mention of helmets, something I
wanted to do for years, andmy kid has two of them. Then my kid thinks this would
be neat and if it will keep him out of trouble, any ways I'm into it !!! Your
mag has bean nothing but inspiration!!!! It is real neat. It has answered many
questions. thank you . will be sending an order soon and will probally be
talking to you again. Thanks again Greg and Billy
* Thanks ... And great work
- both the web site and the quality of the info .... love the magazine ... I'm
a rookie, but I've come a long way since I found your website ! ; )
* I am still learning how to
use the brushes and what conditions cause what problem. I have been going back
to the e-mag for clues and tips. Thanks for running the mag. It's great.
Thanks, Brent
* PS!!! The airbrush
artistmagazine has been a real push forward for me in my airbrushing, and i've
got lot of e-mails from people asking things. i like that a lot even that i'm
no expert in airbrushing but it's fun to try to help them out. Thank you Don.

* Hey don, how are things
going? great here, I just wanted to once again say thanks, The articles are
great and help lots, I have had some great Ideas from them, I wa salso
wondering if for the free video i could get the one about painting skulls on
the helmet? if not its not a problem, Thanks again and keep up the great work,
,,,Kurt Milller *I think its great. I cant
wait to get started so I can post some of my work out there. There is so much
information that I have read already it has really excited me about doing this.
I have never been much of an artist as far as pictures, murals etc. goes, but
graphics, flames and such have always seemed to turn out fairly well. I am a
perfectionist so even though it may take me an eternity to turn out a set of
flames on a bike, they seem to always look pretty decent. I have a couple of
projects of my own that I am extremely anxious to get working on. Thanks again
for all your help. I am sure I will be asking a ton of questions. Ill try not
to be a nuisance. *Don, I wanted to
give you some feedback on the magazine. First of all I am pleased with the
content and the quality of the articles and information. I was especialy
surprised at how quickly you return e mails and your willingness to help. I
have already gotten my moneys worth and then some of helpful tips and
information. Air pressure and helmut masking just to name a couple Looking
forward to more stuff thanx Bob
Thanks for your great web-site, I love it.
-Greg

INTO IT, EVERYONE THERE DOES A GREAT JOB , AT THE FRONT OF THE MAGAZINE THERE
IS A PIC OF A HELMET WITH SKULLS, CAN YOU TELL ME WHERE TO FIND THAT ARTICLE ?
I AM ALSO LOOKING FOR ANY INFO ON HOW TO DO BARBED WIRE, I WORK MOSTLY ON
MOTORCYCLE TANKS AND THIS SEEMS TO BE REALLY POPULAR AROUND HERE , AND FINALLY
IF I E MAIL A FEW PICS OF THE FLAME JOB I JUST DID COULD YOU TAKE A LOOK ,
CONSTRUCTIVE CRITISISM ONLY MAKES ONES WORK BETTER , ITS A LOT TO ASK BUT
THANKS IF YOU CAN HELP, AND IF YOU CANT THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK AND THE
GREAT MAG ANYHOW, ,,,,, KURT MILLER
*This is the BEST airbrush
site I've found on the web, or in magazine publications either for that matter.
I subscribe to ------ ----- ( for about 7 years ) and sometimes buy that other
one...------ + ---- or something like that. Way too much advertising!!!! Thank
you so much for all the work and heart you put into it. Have a great evening.
Teri
* Hi Don and thanks for the
welcoming. I have utilized the airbrush primarily for art work on motorcycles
although I did do a dragon on the hood of a Camaro Z28 along with tribal flames
recently. I am happy that I did subscribe to this magazine for in my first day
exploring the site I read a few "pointers" that I will have to try that should
make paints flow better through the brush. I have been involved most of my life
in artistic endevors since about the 5th grade. Altough I usally work on metal
sufaces I just did a catchers mask (very similar to a goalies mask) and had a
ball doing it! Well I am sure I will have some questions in the future since I
would like to try working airbrushing into my "fine art" paintings that I
do...... Jeff in Detroit
*Online search for airbrush
information. I really like your website. Never done airbrushing before but I
bought a Paasche VL set to play around with. I build hovercraft and like to put
graphics on them. In the past I have used the 'tape off everything you don't
want painted and use a spray can' method. Would like to be a little less
limited and more creative with them. Bill
* The Online Airbrush Artist
Magazine is superb in it's Tech items and in the "How-To's. When I subscribed I
was a novice as far as airbrush work. The beginning instructions were easy to
follow and got me up to speed quickly. The illustrations of work and How-To's
from various artists really show the wide range of uses for the airbrush and
open up new possibilites. It was especially helpful to read the articles on
equipment. There are so many companies out there that it took your guidance for
me to come up with a good combination of equipment for the work that I do. Your
Beginning Airbrush #1 Video that I purchased was a useful tool that I followed
when starting out. All in all, thanks for a Great Website and Magazine. Jim
Whitehead
* Don, I've just started to
use an airbrush, I bought a aztec A470 to weather the buildings on my model
railroad. Your basic lessons 1 & 2 have come in handy. The magazine is
excellent, keep up the good work! Dave
*hi don we recently
suscribed to your magazine and think its great. the only airbrushing we have
done in the past was with a paasche single action using stencils for body
tattoos and alcohol based body paint, and used alcohol for cleanup. we recently
bought paache double action millenium that came with #3 needle. is windex a
safe cleaner or will it damage o-rings and is silicone spray a good lubricant
for the needle? we want to start painting auto tags first, is the #3 o.k. or
should we order a # 1? also the video you sent us was much better than what we
have seen. thanks kathy
*thank you for taking the
time to teach people how to do airbrushing, and for the great web site. you
make it so much fun and easy that with web sites like yours more people will
enjoy airbrushing. thanks again: mike
* Dear Don, I want to thank
you for all your help via e-mail and the magazine, both have been so very
helpful in many ways!! I e- mailed before about batting helmets. My gun is not
working properly, it is spraying more water onto my work than paint. I wasd
thinking that a water trap might be the answer to my problems. Are there any
other reasons you can think of why it would be doing this? Who do you order
supplies from? Thank you sooo much, Chelsa Coleman
* Hi Don. I enjoy the web
site. I have already printed out some articles and am learning a lot. Regarding
the video, did you send it out? Is there a tracking number from the courier
service? I haven't received it yet. I'd appreciate an update, thanks.
-Michael * Thanks...I now have it working
OK. I will try to take apart the other airbrush to see if that's the problem
there. It's a new one and not sure if I can return to the supplier or have to
go back to the manufacturer. I have another question...you'll probably be tired
of hearing from me. Anyway, how necessary is it to clear coat your T-shirt
before you heat set it. I'm in a time crunch for basketball team shirts (got
the request two weeks before the season ends PLUS it's my first ever project).
Can I just heat set them without the clear coat? And, if I heat set them, can I
go back and clear coat or add a number to the shirt? Thanks for sharing all you
know!! By the way, I'm very impressed with the magazine. It has lots of great
info. M'Lisse E. Haas
* Hi Donald, i've only just
starting learning to airbrush so any help would be appreiciated, i.e being i
live in the uk how can i obtain your tuition video's and can they be played on
uk video players? The other query i have is how do you know how much to charge
when doing a job for someone, i.e tank, helmet, car bonnet etc?. From what i've
seen of the magazine it's very good and informative, keep it up. Mark
*Thanks Don ...... I really
like the mag -- I am new to airbrush - I want to do crafts mostly -- I love the
fact that it is on line and I can download the articles I want (I have printed
a few basics to have for reference while I am working. I am not an artist and I
need patterns or good directions. My boyfriend has a Harley and is into flames
-- when I get a little better, I want to do some flame projects for him. Thanks
for easy to use and available material! Terri
* Hi Don, I did a search on
Dogpile.com using the words airbrush video. Your site was the second record
found. Yep, the magazine site is just what I was looking for, down to earth
honest information. My brother airbrushs his model trains, my sister uses hers
for crafts and I do scale models. But after seeing your site I'm going to
venture into other areas like T-shirts. I wish more internet sites where like
yours. Best Regards Kevin Tesmar
* The magazine is great. Im
new at airbrushing so everything is helpful. Im over 50 so Im not looking to
make a bunch of money. But I enjoy airbrushing. I do cartoons for hobby, so I
have some artistic ability. I am impressed with what you can do with an air
brush, and my goal is to be able to achieve airbrush pictures like in your
magaqzine. You articles and how to is helping me start a new phase in art.
Thanks for the good information. Thanks again for the follow up on me getting
your magazine Gary Garcia
*Dear Donald: Thank you for
your informative website. I was encourged by your instructions for beginners in
airbrush and your notes on art. I subscribed to your magazine as I also noticed
it comes with a beginner video for airbrush. I'm exploring the possibility of
getting into airbrush and the video and your online magazine would be helpful
to me. Thanks again, Ray Truesdell
*Don, Thanks for the
welcome. I'm expanding my model building and going from spray paint to air
brushing. Your web-magazine is a great place, and I think is going to be an
invaluable resource for me. Ed Price |
